• Moving to New Jersey, USA in mid-1994
• Senior Scientist in the Internetworking Research Group at Bellcore (now Telcordia)
• Member of Technical Staff at Bell Labs Research from 2Q 1997 to 1Q 2001.
• Temporary assignments from 4Q97 to 1Q99 - Manager, Multiservice Core Network Offer Group; Marketing director for the PacketStar IP Switch.
• Moving to California in late 1999
• Messing around with IP over ATM protocols and architectures in the IETF and ATM Forum
• ...until we all realized ATM LANs were being clobbered by Fast Ethernet.
• Messing around with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
• ...until it really started looking just like ATM - at both the political and protocol layers.
